The beginning of this month my parents Ken and Dawn celebrated 25 years of marriage. My sisters and I had the pleasure of planning the surprise event. However, it wouldn't have been possible without the help my dad's sisters Karen and Deb. Their wedding had a soft grey color and as my mom describes it, a dusty rose accent color. (she hates admitting it was pink!) We decided to have a barbeque at a park right after church. We planned it for the day after my cousin's wedding, so that family would still be in town. My parents thought that we just were hanging out before everyone left to head home.

I created a dessert table to add to the sweetness of the day. I made the banner from scrap-booking paper and white raffia.

I got fresh flowers from Lancaster Market the friday before the BBQ and arranged them myself. For each of the guest picnic tables, we laid white butcher paper down then put a mason jar bouquet on each table.

My aunt Deb made coconut cupcakes, and recently I had gotten Martha Stewart's Cupcake book, and made Peanut Butter Cookie Cupcakes, and Streusel Cupcakes. My little sister Julie came up with ideas for other treats such as the wafer cookies.

When my parents were out of the house, I was able to snag their wedding album. It made it easy for making the invites and a guestbook for everyone to sign to remember the day. Jen created this book over at blurb.com
